Karyn Atienza (Certified Pilates Instructor)

Karyn received her Pilates education from the Articulate Eye Pilates Teacher Training Program and is a PMA-Pilates Certified Instructor. She began studying Pilates while dancing professionally and has been teaching Pilates at the American Dance Institute since 2007.  Karyn received her BFA in Dance Performance from the University of Akron, and has performed for both modern and ballet companies. Karyn has also taught ballet and modern for over 16 years and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Kent State University

This combination of studying movement and methods of teaching has afforded Karyn with keen observational and creative instructional skills that she diligently incorporates into her Pilates lessons.  As a serious practitioner and teacher of both Pilates and dance, Karyn’s ability to understand the body in motion, whether in performance or everyday actions, allows her to develop meticulous, creative and personalized lessons that meet the needs and goals of each of her clients.

Jennifer Coulter (Senior Teacher, PMA-Pilates Certified Instructor)

Jenna has been practicing Pilates since 1999 and teaching since 2001, both as an apprentice and then, a certified instructor. Jenna completed her comprehensive certification at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. She is also PMA-Pilates certified. Jenna has taken many workshops in teaching, assisted stretching, massage, modification for injuries, integrative movement, anatomy, and truth in movement. She also has a BA from the University of Northern Colorado in Dance Science, focusing on the mechanics behind dance and movement, as well as choreography and performance.

Jenna has worked with people of many different ages and body types, including dancers, figure skaters, other serious athletes, and those recovering from injuries. Jenna believes in the coordination of mind, body, and spirit and incorporates this into her teaching. She also believes that through Pilates, one can increase strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness to gain an overall healthier lifestyle. With this comes the ability to fully enjoy all aspects of life.

Emily DeCoster (PMA-Pilates Certified Instructor)

Emily has been practicing Pilates for nine years and teaching since 2005.  She is a graduate of the Articulate Eye Pilates Teacher Training Program - a program requiring over 600 hours of training.  She is also PMA-Pilates certified.  Emily has an especial interest in the therapeutic and rehabilitation potential of Pilates - she has assisted clients in recovering from injuries using the Pilates method.  She is also interested in the benefits of Pilates for athletic conditioning and has worked with both swimming and diving teams to complement their overall training.

Nikki Goldsborough (PMA-Pilates Certified Instructor)

Nikki was first introduced to Pilates when she began working at The American Dance Institute as an administrator. After three years of practicing Pilates, she was accepted into the Articulate Eye Pilates Teacher Training Program’s first class of trainees. Upon completion of over 600 hours of training, Nikki graduated from the comprehensive program and was certified in February, 2005. She is also PMA-Pilates certified.

Nikki appreciates the personal rewards of practicing Pilates, and enjoys sharing her knowledge and love for teaching with her clients. She brings sensitivity combined with precision to her work, creating a safe and encouraging yet challenging environment to work with clients at all levels.

Aliyah Hardy (PMA-Pilates Certified Instructor)

Aliyah earned her Certificate of Completion from The Pilates Center Teacher Training Program in Boulder, Colorado, with over 900 hours of training. Movement and fitness have been an integral part of her life since childhood, including 13 years of dance, track and field, karate, and leisure activities such as hiking, yoga, and tennis. Aliyah began practicing The Pilates Method while still working as an engineer and strategic planner. Pilates immediately struck a chord and truly helped her enhance her entire health and well being. She knew it was time to make her life work her life passion. Aliyah’s knowledge of dynamics and structure intersect with her love of movement, the physical form, imagery, and inspiration to bring her to this point. She brings a unique perspective and a warm energy to her teaching, and has experience working in an environment focused on integrated health, fitness, and rehabilitation. But most importantly, she is passionate about helping her clients discover strength, freedom and joy from the inside out, through Pilates.

Tracey McKee - Director of Pilates Programming

Tracey is an accomplished Pilates and Movement instructor with success applying methodologies that promote strong and flexible bodies. Tracy studied with Pilates trainers from Stott, Balanced Body and White Cloud Studios. She has the honor of receiving her Yoga teacher training from Iyengar renegade Ginny Nadler. Prior to joining American Dance Institute, Tracey successfully operated her own Pilates studio in Cleveland and has taught Pilates, Yoga and Movement classes for actors in the MFA program at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. She was invited by the Cleveland Clinic to be a part of their Rehabilitation for Performing Artists Department. In addition, her extensive dance experience has provided her the opportunity to perform with companies in Australia, Canada and the United States. Tracey is committed to working on injury prevention and rehabilitation programs, and she remains dedicated to effectively building intelligent and pain-free bodies.
