The Articulate Eye Pilates Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive yearlong training program. The program complies with the Pilates Method Alliance guidelines for comprehensive teacher training programs, and offers its course material in Rockville, MD through The American Dance Institute. The Articulate Eye is directed by Jennifer Campbell, whose mission is to offer a nurturing, noncompetitive environment for Pilates’ students desirous of becoming effective, knowledgeable, and articulate Pilates instructors. Integral to The Articulate Eye is the concept of "teaching how to teach,” in which trainees are guided in the art of teaching the classic repertoire to different bodies and personalities. Jennifer and the other instructors take the utmost satisfaction in honoring the trainee who forges their own creative teaching path and integrates it with the original and full spectrum of this unique system of movement we call Pilates.
During the course of a year, trainees will learn and experience a comprehensive historical repertoire of Pilates exercises on all equipment, including matwork. In addition, The Articulate Eye incorporates lecture time on subjects such as appropriate leveling of the material, pre-and post-natal Pilates exercise, anatomy, common conditions, injuries, and others. The learning process is enhanced because class sizes are kept deliberately small. Through journal-keeping, small group sessions, assigned mentors, and 8-week interval progress checks, The Articulate Eye provides a well-rounded, thorough pathway toward becoming a thoughtful, knowledgeable Pilates instructor. .
